Issue
The WPA Passphrase for a WiFi network (Aruba) had been forgotten.
Resetting it would be painful due to the number of connected devices.
The WPA Passphrase is not visible from the Virtual Controller GUI.
Resolution
Connect to the Virtual Controller via SSH.
Run the following command to disable encrypted display.
Note: this does not display unencrypted passwords for admin logins.
AP1-X500-Comms-c8:ba:d6# show run no-encrypt
Find the relevant SSID profile, and the WPA-Passphrase will be shown in clear text, for example:
wlan ssid-profile "X500 Guest" enable index 1 type guest essid "X500 Guest" wpa-passphrase GiveMeInternet123!!! opmode wpa2-psk-aes max-authentication-failures 0 vlan 20 rf-band all captive-portal disable dtim-period 1 broadcast-filter arp dmo-channel-utilization-threshold 90 local-probe-req-thresh 0 max-clients-threshold 64
Sorted!
For info, the Aruba was running ArubaOS (MODEL: 315), Version 6.5.4.9.
